MQA-CD plays back on all CD players. When a conventional CD player is connected to an MQA-enabled device, the CD will reveal the original master quality.
MQA (Master Quality Authenticated) is an award-winning British technology that reveals every detail of the original master recording.
Regular CD Player
As a result of the MQA encoding process, MQA-CDs benefit from increased timing precision and de- blurring when played on any device. (This playback mode is called “Legacy” and is one of the key features of MQA, where all listeners will hear audio – irrespective of the playback decoder functionality).
MQA-Enabled CD Player
These CD players can recognise an MQA-CD. The built-in MQA decoder will automatically restore the high-resolution signal heard in the studio and confirm it, using the authentication signatures.
MQA-enabled CD players include Oppo UDP-205, Esoteric Grandioso K1x, Triode TRV-CD65E and Meridian 808v6 with more being released to market each quarter.
MQA-CD ripping
Consumers may want to rip MQA-CDs for playback on a range of devices. As described in section 7.2.3, we recommend using the MQA Tag Restorer application to restore the metadata tags required by some MQA-enabled devices.

about
CALL YOU FRIEND - The song was written in response to the untimely passing of two of my bandmates in the band PAINTED HILLS. I choose to vari-speed this recording on my OTARI half-track tape machine during mix down. The effect of which is that the tempo is increased slightly, giving it a bit more urgency, a side-effect of which is that the entire song is pitched up slightly, giving the tom toms a particularly pleasing sound. The arrangement was worked and reworked many times before landing on this spacious, guitar-centric style which leaves lots of room for the rhythm section of Will Scott on drums and myself on a bass with fantastically midrange-y DiMarzio pickup. The electric guitar is processed again through a Leslie spinning speaker, one of my favorite and oft-used guitar effects. Mimi Michel lifts this track with her harmony vocals
lyrics
CALL YOU FRIEND
All along the levee, the water is lapping up
Tired earth, about ready to give it up
Red earth, giving birth, to a valley again
Out on the water, or tripping to Xanadu
Now the earth, will surround you
Sheltered from, the coming storm
Now that peace has found you
Are you feeling no pain, feel no wind, feel no rain
But ain’t it a shame, for we who remain, to go on without you ’til the end
I called you friend
I called you friend
Down from the mountain, a river is flowing
Now it’s much more than a stream
It’s moving again, around the bend
And life is just to dream
Are you feeling no pain, feel no wind, feel no rain
but ain’t it a shame, for we who remain, to go on without you ’til the end
I called you friend
I called you friend

If Wooden Shjips traded their sails for a prairie schooner, this is what you might hear them playing around the campfire at night on the Great Plains: homespun country-rock with a hint of psychedelia. Wonderful stuff, from start to finish. neu-mann

Entire album is excellent. As is the rest of the catalog. Go back to 1970...take the Dead and Floyd and roll them up. Yet completely different.
Just plain old GOOD MUSIC. Ed Fransko
