MQA-CD plays back on all CD players. When a conventional CD player is connected to an MQA-enabled device, the CD will reveal the original master quality.
MQA (Master Quality Authenticated) is an award-winning British technology that reveals every detail of the original master recording.
Regular CD Player
As a result of the MQA encoding process, MQA-CDs benefit from increased timing precision and de- blurring when played on any device. (This playback mode is called “Legacy” and is one of the key features of MQA, where all listeners will hear audio – irrespective of the playback decoder functionality).
MQA-Enabled CD Player
These CD players can recognise an MQA-CD. The built-in MQA decoder will automatically restore the high-resolution signal heard in the studio and confirm it, using the authentication signatures.
MQA-enabled CD players include Oppo UDP-205, Esoteric Grandioso K1x, Triode TRV-CD65E and Meridian 808v6 with more being released to market each quarter.
MQA-CD ripping
Consumers may want to rip MQA-CDs for playback on a range of devices. As described in section 7.2.3, we recommend using the MQA Tag Restorer application to restore the metadata tags required by some MQA-enabled devices.

about
AMONGST THE PINES - A little country-folk-rock number invented on an evening drive up to Mount Baldy in the San Gabriel Mountains. The arrangement is somewhat in tribute to a Gordon Lightfoot or Ozark Mountain Daredevils style production. The “foggy mountain way” line is a little nod to Foggy Mountain Music, a wonderful music shop in Grass Valley, CA. The main acoustic guitar is in a “D-modal” tuning and this is also a successful example of my favorite three mic recording technique for acoustic instruments. One of my great friends, Dave Baine, is on mandolin here, and the music video that accompanies this video is comprised of footage shot by myself and Dave on a 9 day backpacking trip on the High Sierra Trail. Fun times.
lyrics
AMONGST THE PINES
Come wander out amongst the pines
When the full moon relieves the day
Sparking elations and other sensations
Daylight cannot convey
Come wander out amongst the pines
Farther out, dappled and grey
Now higher we climb, and for this brief time
Yours and mine, all we survey
So let the world spin in moonlight
Mountain sounds for us to play
And I will give you a taste of the good life
Call it the foggy mountain way
Come wander out amongst the pines
You’re a lady of subtle ways
Moonlight in your hair and no colors anywhere
And nothing we’ll need to say
Moonlight in your hair and no colors anywhere
And nothing we’ll need to say
So let the world spin in moonlight
Mountain sounds for us to play
And I will give you a taste of the good life
Call it the foggy mountain way
Call it the foggy mountain way

If Wooden Shjips traded their sails for a prairie schooner, this is what you might hear them playing around the campfire at night on the Great Plains: homespun country-rock with a hint of psychedelia. Wonderful stuff, from start to finish. neu-mann

Entire album is excellent. As is the rest of the catalog. Go back to 1970...take the Dead and Floyd and roll them up. Yet completely different.
Just plain old GOOD MUSIC. Ed Fransko
